Sunlight fading.
Cruise ship passes, engine whirring.
Feelings stir.
Elevator. Muggy day. I stood behind you and your shoulders, damp through blue cotton, didn’t go unnoticed and I haven’t forgotten.
You’d reach for me, but you think I’m water. Slip through your fingers. Devil’s daughter. Perhaps you’re scared I wouldn’t.
Shouldn’t…… couldn’t. One day goodbye.
Blue. Water and sky.
